Ho Chi Minh City, October 24, 2025

Three young Vietnamese doctors have been recognized by the Global Pasteur Network alongside 37 other scientists under the age of 40 worldwide for their outstanding contributions to disease surveillance, prevention, and public health protection.

The list of 40 Under 40 is a new initiative by the Global Pasteur Network, announced during the Annual Meeting of the Pasteur Network held from October 21–24 in Ho Chi Minh City. This marks the first time in 66 sessions that the event has been hosted in an Asian country, bringing together more than 250 scientists and experts from five continents.

An Initiative to Honor Young Scientists

According to the selection process, each member institute nominates one or two potential candidates, and an international scientific council chooses 40 outstanding young scientists for their contributions in medical research, infectious disease prevention, climate change response, immunology, and vaccine development.

“Honoring young scientists is a way to make science come alive through individuals dedicated to public health. This initiative fosters collaboration and shared responsibility in addressing global health challenges.”

– Dr. Mario Moreira, President of the Global Pasteur Network
